Updated: Jan 17, 2021

Every business owner knows whether they are capable or incapable of business success. Business markets change over the years and what once was the golden vein has dried up. The question is are business owners leveraging every aspect of a new market and target audience.

Digital Marketing can help your business attract customers and help you stay in touch with your base of customers or choose not to. The choice is up to you the business owner. For years effective marketing boomed to an era of new forms of marketing.

Marketing Is Important

For hundreds of years, business owners relied on customers coming into their brick and mortar stores or offices and to get products or services. This was a much less wasteful society. In the stores, you would have to order products and buy a specific amount as the store simply couldn't and didn't stock raw goods.

20th Century Marketing

Imagine if business owners could imagine using the internet to gain traction for their stores and marketing online. It was hard marketing which is why we see so many stores advertising on walls and entire shops covered by a brand. Even into the dawn of the 20th century we see marketing was being used in various forms to a target market. Spread the word!

Most people are scared of a marketing plan they know it costs money and time. Marketing is tricky and right when you have it figured out you realize the game is changing. Marketing strategies are the most important part of any campaign. Structure your marketing you don't have to reach for the finish line right out of the gate.

Make your marketing work for you

Good marketing doesn't rely on everything being perfect from the start. Sit down and create a marketing plan to grow your business. Your marketing efforts should never start your digital marketing or marketing campaigns. You need something to Market.

Here are a few steps to help you find out where you are and define how you will approach your marketing strategy:

Phase 1 - Where to send your audience

You will need a place for your marketing to send your audience. You will need a website or social media site for digital marketing. I would suggest a website as you can have a site built as part of your overall marketing plan.

  • If I am looking for your products or services where can I find you at?

  • Do you have a Website or Social Media?

  • Does it represent and market your skill or product?

  • Does it look presentable as a professional business?

  • How can I contact you?

  • Phone, Text, Email,?

Phase 2 - Who is your audience and where can you reach them?

This is a changing factor as you start working with b2c and b2b customers and the ways to reach them are completely different.

You won't find a lot of b2b customers on social media with the exception of Linkedin. Most of these guys are searching google for answers and finding the products and services they need. The consumer, on the other hand, spends hours a day plucking away at social media.

  • Who are you marketing to?

  • Where can you find them?

  • What is the best method to reach them?

  • What is the best role to sell your products to?

Phase 3 - What will you use to catch your audience's attention?

This is where you have to start being strategic. You have a website or social page in place now you have to get them there. Here a few things to keep in mind.
